Sixty-Six Steps in Harbour Island, Bahamas

Contrary to popular belief, Sixty-Six Steps in Harbour Island, Bahamas has only 16 steps instead of 66. These 16 steps, located on Bay Street , were fashioned out of solid rock by a convict incarcerated in the jailhouse in the 17th century. The steps probably got its name, according to most sources, from the year the work was completed.
